Apparently donating to parties and candidates, even sponsoring candidates like Colorado’s Betsy Markey doesn’t go far enough for Andy Stern’s union. It is reported that SEIU is forming its own political party in North Carolina called North Carolina First. They could call it anything they want I suppose but the point seems to be to unseat three North Carolina Democrats who voted against Obamacare. The article by JD Longstreet of North Carolina is well worth the read.

It would certainly be ironic if the Democrats are dividing themselves the way they hope the GOP and the Tea party will. A sort of NY-23 in reverse.

But it doesn’t stop there. In Nevada–speaking of the Tea Party–SEIU are teaming up with Harry Reid and AFSCME to support the “Patriot Majority PAC,” reportedly to the tune of $5.8 million. Their goal? Defeat Tea Party candidates in 2010. The brainchild of Democratic Party strategist Craig Varoga,

Patriot Majority PAC will work actively in the 2010 election cycle at the grassroots level to defeat Tea Party candidates across the United States.

Should I tell them? Except in Florida and Nevada, where Democrats have set up fake “Tea Parties” there are no tea party political parties. The Tea Party is a movement, not a party. Much more dangerous to be sure, so the statement continues:

Patriot Majority is also putting together a tracking program of Tea Party activity nationwide to monitor outbreaks of actual violence, threats of violence or other types of extremism. As part of its national grassroots campaign, Patriot Majority is also urging citizens across the United States to post updates on Tea Party activity, especially incidents of harassment and possible extremism.

Note the repetition of violence, harassment and extremism just in case you missed it the first time. With such a large war chest, it might last a bit longer than the Coffee Party or the Crash the Tea Party sites.

In the best Marxist propaganda tradition, you won’t find those quotes on the front page of their website: you have to go to The Tea Party is Over link to discover their real mission. But not to worry:
